ما أكثر أبطالنا و ما أطرفهم. و لكن هل غيّروا من واقعنا العربي منذ العام 1948 شيئا؟ ألم ينفع وجود أشخاص مثل جوهر الصقلي و خالد بن الوليد و طارق بن زياد و صلاح الدين الأيوبي و جمال عبد الناصر و معمر القذافي و الملك فيصل بن عبد العزيز و صدام حسين و حسن نصرالله و غيرهم في تحرير الأراضي العربية و تحقيق الأمل المنشود في وحدة عربية؟
عندما توجه الزعيم الراحل الحبيب بورقيبة إلى القاهرة من أجل وضع القضية التونسية على جدول أعمال الجامعة العربية، نظروا إليه و قالوا: "إن القضية الفلسطينية هي من أولوياتنا في الوقت الحالي. حالما نحلّها سنهتم بمشكلة بلدك" و عاد الزعيم مرّة أخرى لنفس الأشخاص بعيد استقلال تونس و خاطبهم: "الحمد لله أنكم لم تضعوا القضية التونسية على جدول أعمالكم...و إلا لكنّا نرزح إلى الآن تحت الاحتلال الفرنسي".
الآن و قد انضم الصحفي منتظر الزيدي إلى قافلة الأبطال، فهل سنرى قريبا صحفية عراقية أو عربية تمسك بشعر وزيرة الخارجية الأمريكية كوندوليزا رايس في قبلة وداعية؟ أم هل أن بقية المؤتمرات الصحفية ستمنع دخول النساء و ارتداء الأحذية؟

Many Arabs consider the Iraqi journalist Montazar Al-Zaydy as a national hero after throwing his shoes in US Pesident's face.
It seems that in our Arab World we are multiplying the number of our heros such as Jawhar Al Sikilli, Khaled Ibn Al-Walid, Tarq Ibn Ziad, Salaheddine Al-Ayubi, Jamel Abeddanaser, Muamar Al Kadaffi, Saddam Husein and Hassan Nasrallah (the list is much more longer). However, does any body of them brought the change we claim? does any body of them freed our territories in Palestine and Golan?
When our Leader Habib Bourguiba went to Cairo in order to list the Tunisian Affaire on the Arab League Agenda, they told him that for that time being, the Palestinian case is a top priority, "we will look at your case after closing the Palestinian one". Few yeard after the independence, President Bourguiba went and met with the same persons and he said "thank God that you did not list our case on your agenda at that time, otherwise, we would saty under French occupation"!!!
Now, as many consider the Iraqi journalist as hero, a hero from shoes, will we see an Iraqi woman journalist, pulling Condelezaa Rice from her hair? or will the next few press conferences will be submitted to a prior remove of shoes and prohibited on women?
