Hong Kong has celebrated the tenth anniversary of being under the Chinese flag after more than 200 years under British Empire. I remember that day in July 1997. I was in the gulf following the emotional ceremony of handing over Hong Kong to China. Since the morning the last Governor Mr. Chris Patten and his family were visiting some places, receiving guests, farwell staff, until Prince Charles and PM Blair arrived to annouce the begining of the official ceremony to transfer HK. By middnight, all salute Chinese flag, where the yacht "Britannia", left the harbour under tears and joy.
For me it is a contrast. HK..democracy..freedom..liberties.. and China..repression..communism..dictaturship.
