The Tunisian President, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, has called the international comunity to respect its committments towards the Palestinian case. He emphasised too over the war on Lebanon, in what it is said a direct speech to the countries of the Arabian Gulf to help in rebuilding the destroyed Lebanon. Moreover, he called for an immediate ceasefire.
The Tunisian authorities are organising national campaigns of collecting money and blood. After the massacre of Qana, Tunisia was the only country to declare a three-day-mourning and ordered to put flags on half-mast.
The Tunisian First Lady, Mrs. Leila Ben Ali from her side, has addressed a speech to the international community in which she qualified the war on Lebanon & Palestine, in reference to the Israeli aggression as "acts of collective extermination of which civilians in Palestine and Lebanon are victims and their disastrous consequences for property and infrastructure." She stressed on "an immediate and global ceasefire" and "a halt to the Israeli aggression in the Palestinian territories."
The Tunisian singer, Lotfi Bouchnek, has confirmed that he will remain as an Ambassador for peace.
