Mr. Jibril Rjoub, President of the Palestinian Olympic Committee and of the Palestinian Football Federation, has considered that Tunisia has challenged the Israeli occupation authorities by insisting to hold an amicable football match between the Tunisian Olympic team and the Palestinian one.
Mr. Rjoub has also considered that the match is so symbloic to the Palestinians against the blocus made by Israel.
From his part, Dr. Salam Fayadh, Palestinian Prime Minister, who attended the match, has thanked the Tunisian President, Government and People.
The Palestinian responsibles have nammed the match as "A Match for Peace".
Thousands of fans gathered at Faycel Al Husseini Staduim in Ramallah, just few kilometers away of Jerusalem. The match ended with the winning of Tunisia 3-0.
Some journalists and analysts have stated that the match between Tunisia and Palestine brought back the real features of sport and sport spirits such as tolerance, brotherhood and peace. Standards that have been forgotten during the matches between Egypt and Algeria.
Mr. Rjoub has also confirmed that the Israeli security forces have arrested Mr. Slim Chiboub, the Tunisian team and the official delegation and have not allowed them to enter to the Holy City of Jerusalem in order to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
